Stormwater Discharge Permits

Stormwater is rain and snow melt that runs off surfaces such as rooftops, paved streets, highways, and parking lots. As water runs off these surfaces, it can pick up pollutants such as sediment, oils, and chemicals that contaminate local water bodies. The Stormwater Branch aims to protect the waters of the State from the discharge of pollutants in stormwater runoff. The Stormwater Branch regulates stormwater runoff from municipalities, construction sites, and certain industrial facilities in accordance with the Federal Water Pollution Control Act and Chapter 445A of the Nevada Revised Statutes.
