Revised Total Coliform Rule - Final Rule, effective April 15, 2013 (April 1, 2016 compliance date)

The Revised Total Coliform Rule has revisited the issue of coliform contamination in drinking water systems and refined monitoring and enforcement requirements to reflect the need to find and fix the sanitary defects that allow contamination into the system. These refinements include increased monitoring for Seasonal Systems, treatment technique triggers requiring in-depth investigation into the cause of contamination, and enhanced reporting and planning to assist public water systems in their efforts to delivery clean, safe drinking water.
