NDEP-BSMM Fee Applicability

The table below summarizes permit and fee requirements by solid waste management facility type.

*  Postclosure period fees apply to all landfill types following closure.
** Facilities with a NDEP-BSMM approved liner and or groundwater monitoring waiver are exempt from annual fees as described in NAC 444.6395

This fee structure was approved by the SEC and became effective as of October 24, 2014. These fees are described in NAC 444.6395 and Solid Waste Fee Summary.

Fees are only to be paid digitally through the NDEP's ePayment login page.

Initial Application Fees

Below is a table of all the flat rate fees for an application for a Class I or Class III Landfill, a waste tire management facility, or a transfer station. Rates are based on projected tons received per day, calculated on an annual average.

Annual Operating Fees

Below is a table that lists the opearting fees for applicable solid waste management facilities based off waste tonnage intake at the facility. Rates are based on average tons received per day of the previous year. For example the 2024 tons/day average is used for the 2025 fee amounts due on or before July 31 of each year.

* This landfill type and activity level excludes Class I sites that have received a waiver of the liner and groundwater monitoring requirements prescribed in NAC 444.681 and NAC 444.683, respectively. 

Solid Waste Tracking and Disposal Reports (SWTDR) can be accessed by submitting a Public Records Request and or visting the in development Nevada Solid Waste Analysis Tools website.

Annual Post-Closure Period Permit Fees

The fees listed in the table below are applicable to all solid waste disposal sites identified above.

This landfill type and activity level excludes Class I sites that have received a waiver of the liner and groundwater monitoring requirements prescribed in NAC 444.681 and NAC 444.683, respectively. 

Permit Modification Fees

The fees listed in the table below apply to all existing permits to operate a solid waste disposal site. Routine technical corrections and administrative updates are not considered substantive modifications for fee purposes.
