Mining Permit

Notice: The 2013 Mining Stormwater General Permit (NVR300000) has been administratively continued while a permit renewal is being drafted. Renewal notices will be mailed once the new permit has been issued.

NDEP suggests users read the fact sheet and the general permit listed below and related information to determine if your activity requires a mining stormwater permit.

If you are subject to the permitting requirements, please complete a Notice of Intent (NOI) for coverage under the General Permit by completing the Online form (see link below.) After completing the online form you will need to print the document and mail it to NDEP at the address indicated.

• The person signing this form must be an authorized signatory. This form cannot be forwarded to sign after filling, so if you are filling out the form you must be a principal executive officer of the corporation; a general partner of the partnership; the proprietor of a sole proprietorship; a principal executive office, ranking elected official or authorized employee of the municipal, state, or other public facility; or a duly authorized representative that has an authorization letter on file with Water Pollution Control. Notice of Termination (NOT) Online Form
  • REINSPECTION FEES: Beginning July 1, 2023, NDEP will require a Notice of Termination Reinspection fee of $200 for every denied Notice of Termination.
