Public Notice - CatEx for the City of Reno TMWRF

NDEP - Bureau of Administrative Services - Office of Financial Assistance has determined the project for the City of Reno - New Dewatering Facility is eligible for a Categorical Exclusion (CatEx) by the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 445A.744. The City of Reno- Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility has applied for funding to construct a new dewatering facility within the existing fenced property to extract excess water using centrifuges. This technique concentrates the biosolid product “cake,” resulting in a material that is suitable for landfill disposal. The conservation efforts of this project will lower the emissions from the hauling sludge and trucking chemicals to the plant and will reduce the fouled air emissions from the facility. Individuals wishing to obtain further information regarding the project should submit their comments no later than October 24, 2026.
