Notice of Intent to Renew Title VI of The Civil Rights Act of 1964 Policy and Program

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (Division) is required to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI) as a recipient of federal assistance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other federal agencies. The Division is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under any program, activity, or service that it provides on the basis of race, color, national origin; on the basis of sex or a disability; or on the basis of age, in violation of Title VI, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations Part 7, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and Section 13 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972. The Division developed the attached Title VI Policy and Program to provide internal processes that assure Division compliance with these requirements.
 
The Division invites the public to review and provide comment on the Division’s Title VI Policy and Program. Interested individuals should submit comment by mail or email to:

The comment period will be open for 30 days or up to and including July 5, 2024. The Division will review and consider all comments prior to adopting and publishing its final Title VI Policy and Program.
