Temperature

The Bureau of Water Quality Planning of the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) has developed scientifically supported guidance for updating our temperature water quality standards in Nevada waters.  As NDEP reviews temperature standards throughout the state this guidence will be followed to establish proper temperature criteria for protection of aquatic life. 

For this effort, a Working Group consisting of fisheries biologists and other experts was formed to help in the development of the technical guidance to support future temperature standards review activities. While the efforts with the Working Group did not include any formal regulation adoption activities, the technical guidance developed by the group is used by NDEP to update temperature standards across the state.
