Purpose

These meetings will provide an opportunity to learn about emission reduction opportunities and share your comments on the draft Comprehensive Climate Analysis for Nevada (CCAN). Your feedback will benefit all aspects of CCAN before the report is finalized. Please register for the proposed meeting time and format of your preference; the topics and feedback opportunities will be the same in all meetings.

Background

NDEP's Air Program and the GOE have been working with SSG on identifying comprehensive emissions reductions measures for CPRG's CCAN development. The intent of the CCAN is to build upon the Priority Climate Action Plan by identifying all GHG sources, sinks, and sectors present in the state and establish near- and long-term reduction strategies that aim to reduce greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions from selected sectors. The CCAN relies on input received from interested and affected parties through email submissions, community workshops, focus groups, and a technical working group to identify priority measures applicable to the State of Nevada.

A draft CCAN will be made available for comment from September 8 until midnight, October 10, 2025. Access to this draft document can be obtained through NDEP's CPRG website and written comments can be submitted to NDEP's CPRG email, or a Google Form found on our webpage.

A Status Report (SR) will be due in 2027. The intent of the SR is to identify the near- and long-term reduction strategies that Nevada would hope to pursue if additional funding were made available along with providing an update to the CCAN's emissions and analyses. Outreach events are held to establish meaningful engagement with all interested parties during development. Public and stakeholder comments to improve outreach and engagement efforts are encouraged and always ongoing.
