Please join us in celebrating America Recycles Day by showcasing your creative skills
On America Recycles Day, we recognize the importance of recycling and its impacts on both the environment and the economy. To celebrate America Recycles Day on November 15, Nevada Recycles is sponsoring a Creative Reuse Showcase!
Although we weren't able to do the Recycled Art Contest this year, Nevada Recycles still wants to encourage community members to repurpose recyclable materials and make them into something new and beautiful again. While recycling is good, reducing and reusing are even better ways to manage waste. Creativity can help reduce the amount of waste that is sent to the landfill, which is why we are accepting submissions from creators from all over Nevada to see the many creative ways our community members are reusing their old items and diverting waste!
We want to see what you can create with things you may not use anymore. “Shop” your house for inspiration! Be creative, join in the fun, and give those things some new life! Be sure to take photos of your creative reuse project, then use this Entry Form to send in your submission by October 28, 2020. We will post your photos on the Nevada Recycles website and send you a set of To-Go Ware Bamboo Utensils!
When submitting your entry form to our online file system:
- Scroll to the bottom and click on the green button – Add Files
- Choose your file/s
- When you are finished choosing the files click on the blue button—Start upload
That’s it! You are done!
We are asking all of our particiapnts to take the "I Recycle" pledge and commit to:
- LEARN: I will find out what materials are collected for recycling in my community.
- ACT: Within the next month, I will reduce the amount of waste I produce, I will recycle more, and I will buy products made with recycled content.
- SHARE: In the next month, I will encourage one family member or one friend to take the #BeRecycled pledge.
