Christmas Tree 2023 Recycling Information

Christmas Tree 2023 Recycling Information:

Recycle your Christmas tree this holiday season and deliver your community a gift that keeps on giving! The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection’s Recycling Program is encouraging Nevadans to take advantage of free Christmas tree recycling opportunities available across the state as a simple, eco-friendly alternative to dumping trees in the landfill. Recycled Christmas trees serve a second life by being turned into mulch and then used in beautification projects across the state.

ALL TREES MUST BE FREE OF LIGHTS, ORNAMENTS, FLOCKING, AND TINSEL

CARSON CITY:

Waste Management will provide curbside Christmas tree collection for Carson City residents from December 26 to January 19 at no additional cost. Trees must be free of decorations, nails, stands or flocking. Trees must be cut into sections less than six feet long for collection on your regular service day. Trees may also be dropped off in marked locations at 5560 Sheep Drive and Airport Road between Butti Way & East 5th.

If you are unable to deliver your tree to a drop site, a local company called Move It will do it for you for a $25 fee.
