Food Recovery Challenge

The EPA's Food Recovery Challenge has organizations pledge to improve their sustainable food management practices and report their results with the goal to reduce the impact of materials during their life cycle. Any business or organization can join the FRC as a participant or endorser.

By following the Food Recovery Hierarchy, participants prevent and divert wasted food in their operations.

Endorsers promote sustainable management of food by educating organizations and businesses about the environmental, social and economic benefits of preventing and diverting wasted food. Importantly, endorsers also recruit organizations and businesses to join the FRC. These participants and endorsers include groups such as grocers, educational institutions, restaurants, faith organizations, sports and entertainment venues, and hospitality businesses.
