Public Notice - Cat Ex for the City of Wells Stormwater Project

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP), as designated by the US Environmental Protection Agency, is the lead agency for proposed projects funded by the Sewer Overflow and Stormwater Reuse Municipal Grants Program (OSG) for the State of Nevada. The OSG loan applicant, City of Wells, has applied for funding to install curb and gutter along Shoshone Avenue from 6th Street to Dover Street and to install several bioswales to capture sediment from stormwater flows. The Nevada Administrative Code (NAC), in Sections NAC 445A.742 to 445A.762, inclusive, outlines the environmental review procedures to be followed by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) to be consistent with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act. As specified by NAC 445A.744, the proposed project qualifies for a Categorical Exclusion because it is (a)(3) Construction of small structures on existing sites. A significant negative effect on the quality of the environment by this project is unlikely.
