2018 Funding Requests

The following are the Appendix D-4 Beneficiary Eligible Mitigation Action Certifications that have been submitted to—and approved by—Wilmington Trust by the Division of Environmental Protection on Behalf of the State of Nevada. These funding requests have been sorted by the category of Eligible Mitigation Action and when they were submitted to Wilmington Trust.

Category 9 – Light Duty Zero Emission Vehicle Supply Equipment

Project Summary

This project will install publicly available light duty electric vehicle charging infrastructure at a non-government owned property in Glendale, NV.  Specifically, the charging station will be installed at the AM/PM located at 2300 E. Glendale Blvd, Glendale, Nevada, 89025. One Direct Current Fast Charger (the charger will have 2 cords, one SAE Combo and one CHAdeMO, but only one can be in use at a time) and one 2-port Level 2 charger will be installed because of this project.  It is anticipated that this project will mitigate 0.04 tons NOx.

Project Summary

This project will install publicly available light duty electric vehicle charging infrastructure at a government owned property in Amargosa Valley.  Specifically, the charging station will be installed at the intersection of Hwy 373 and Hwy 95 in Lathrop Wells, NV approximately 30 miles from Beatty, NV. One Direct Current Fast Charger (the charger will have 2 cords, one SAE Combo and one CHAdeMO, but only one can be in use at a time) and one 2-port Level 2 charger will be installed because of this project.  It is anticipated that this project will mitigate 0.1 tons NOx. 

Category 10 – The Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA) Option

Project Summary

This replacement project will permanently remove from service three 2005 engine model year diesel-powered Class 8 City of Reno owned flusher trucks for three 2018 diesel-powered Class 8 equivalents.  The total cost of this project is $958,854.81 with $95,885.48 of that being requested from the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund.  It is anticipated that this project will mitigate 1.29 tons NOx.

This replacement project will permanently remove from service five 2005 engine model year diesel-powered school Clark County School District owned school buses for five 2018 diesel-powered equivalents.  The total cost of this project is $768,486.60 with $68,000 of that being requested from the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund.  It is anticipated that this project will mitigate 1.74 tons NOx.

This replacement project will permanently remove from service one 2004 engine model year diesel-powered Class 7 City of Reno owned paint striper truck for one 2018 diesel-powered Class 7 equivalent. The total cost of this project is $423,444 with $42,344.40 of that being requested from the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund.  It is anticipated that this project will mitigate 0.213 tons NOx.

This replacement project will permanently remove from service one 2002 engine model year diesel-powered school Class 8 City of Reno owned combination plow/dump truck for one 2019 diesel-powered Class 8 equivalent.  The total cost of this project is $228,102.20 with $25,771.12 of that being requested from the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund.  It is anticipated that this project will mitigate 0.421 tons NOx.
