Following are brief descriptions of "open cleanup cases" involving PCE contamination associated with the dry cleaning business and others entities in the Reno metro area.

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection's (NDEP) Bureau of Corrective Action oversees cleanup of releases of regulated substances using a multi-media (air, water, soil, and ecological resources) approach. Sites requiring cleanup are usually identified through property transfer assessments or reports of contamination from property owners and/or the general public.

Owners of property are required to remediate contaminated sites to meet state cleanup standards. Once remediation has occurred, NDEP can issue a "Finding of no further Action" for the site
