BUILDING 46 OIL SPILL SITE
SITE DESCRIPTION
HWAAP-I14 is a spill site of diesel fuel and oil contaminated water released from a blowdown incident in 1991 from a compressor. Based on visible staining, the spill appears to be limited to a 10 by 10- foot area. Remedial Investigation in 1994 included collecting 9 near surface soil samples.
The contaminated soil was removed and remediated with land farming. The excavation was backfilled with clean soil.
PROPOSED PLAN
A Closure Decision Document was approved by the NDEP in October 2001.
