The State is required to complete Nonpoint Source Assessment Reports under the Clean Water Act, Section 319. Nonpoint Source Assessment Reports:

Identify water bodies that are not likely to meet water quality standards or goals;
- Identify particular nonpoint sources or categories of sources that are contibuting significant pollution to the waterbodies identified above;
- Identify best management practices and other measures to control each category of nonpoint sources identified above; and
- Identify and describe State and local programs for controlling nonpoint sources of pollution.
The Nonpoint Source Assessment Report was first prepared in 1989 and was updated in 1999.
