Earth Day celebrations occur in several communities in Nevada. Whether you want to learn more about environmental issues, help clean-up the river, volunteer, try delicious vegetarian food, dance, shop, or simply participate in a great drum circle, there is something for everyone at annual Earth Day festivities.

Earth Day is widely celebrated around the world as a collective expression of public will to create a sustainable society. Linking citizen activists, Earth Day educates and mobilizes people worldwide for environmental protection. It inspires action on personal, community, national, and international levels.

The theme for the Earth Day 2004 Celebration in northern Nevada is: "Be the Change You Wish to See". The Earth Day organizing committee is now soliciting artwork concepts that embody this theme, which is inspired by a quote from peace activist Mahatma Gandhi.
