In 2004, an application for Brownfields funding was submitted to obtain assistance in removing soil contaminated with lead. This application was approved. and led to evaluation and removal activities in 2005 and 2006. Contaminated soil was removed and taken to the US Ecology Facility in Beatty, Nevada and the remaining soil was tested to be sure it was below EPA regulatory limits for the site. The project was completed in June 2007.
