Nevada's Brownfields program is designed to create partnerships that improve the quality of Nevada's communities through maximizing opportunities for creative use.

We strive to answer the question:
How Clean is Clean for What Use!

Summary

The site is currently an asphalt parking lot and is known to overlie groundwater contaminated with perchloroethylene (PCE). While this site itself was not found to be a source of PCE, automotive shops and dry cleaners in the surrounding area may have released this contaminant. Due to this contaminant any groundwater removed from the site must be tested for PCE, and if necessary treated and disposed of properly.

The site is a part of the Truckee Meadow Remediation District, which is a local effort to remediate PCE contamination in groundwater. More information on this effort is available from their website here. The only remaining concern for this property is a bus depot located southwest of this site. Historically there have been two recorded events where diesel was released; the bus depot is currently meeting all Nevada standards for its underground storage tanks.
