Gold Quarry Slide Oversight Panel

ue to the magnitude of the failure of the waste rock dump at Gold Quarry and its potential implications, a panel was recently formed by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) to oversee the investigation and the remedial actions being performed by Newmont.

The panel is composed of representatives from local, state and federal agencies, the University of Nevada at Reno, and the mining industry (see list below).

Updated information will be posted on this webpage periodically to help keep interested persons informed of the progress of the investigation.
